Do you ever have those days where you just feel discouraged?

You've been putting in the effort every day and you still aren't where you want to be. You think to yourself,

Do you ever have those days where you just feel discouraged? You've been putting in the effort every day and you still aren't where you want to be. You think to yourself, "what's the point of all this, why am I sacrificing and trying so hard when nothing seems to be paying off?" Honestly, I know some weeks I feel like that more often than not. The problem lies in the fact we live in a society that expects instant gratification. We put in even the most minimal effort, we expect a big time pay off. Well unfortunately that just isn't how it works with sustainable fat loss... or really any sort of success in life. So what's the secret? Consistency and Acceptance. Understand that some days you're going to feel great, and others you'll feel like you're falling flat on your face. Regardless of whatever kind of day you're having, stay consistent. Stick to your plan and accept yourself for where you are in your journey. Take it one step at a time. Understand that each choice you make is either getting you one step closer or one step farther from your end goal. Do you ever feel like your abs/core change daily...even hourly? 
I do! 
Some days I feel on top of the world, like I could live my life in a sports bra or crop top without feeling self conscious. Other days I swear I'm holding a gallon of water just in my midsection. 
So I did a little research, and some trial/error. Here's the top tips I've come up with to combat bloat. 
Tip 1: Limit the processed foods. As much as I love packaged goodies, they're filled with sodium, dyes and other chemicals that can cause your body to hold some extra water. They can also irritate your intestines causing your abdomen to appear a bit more distended than normal.

Tip 2: Limit your sugar intake! 
This doesn't mean cut out things like fruit and sweet potatoes. But be mindful, sugar causes inflammation. Try to limit your intake to 10g per sitting, and also try to pair sugars with fiber dense foods to help offset a dramatic insulin spike. 
Tip 3: Add in a green supplement.
Personally I use @1stphorm Opti-Greens. These are filled with natural probiotics, fiber and other vital nutrients that aid in digestion and reduce inflammation. I noticed a difference in water retention and bloat within 3 days of incorporating it into my diet. (I have a link for free shipping in my bio)

And just like that we made it through Monday!

While Mondays can really be rough, they can also be a great opportunity to start fresh. Maybe last week wasn't great for you? Maybe you weren't as productive as you wanted to be or maybe you just felt off all week? 
We all have weeks like that and its 100% normal and okay.

But what isn't okay is allowing last weeks failures carry through to this week. Take today to start over, give yourself a clean slate. 
And if your week seems overwhelming already, take a minute to break things down. Personally, I write everything down in my planner, every little task for each day of the week. It gives me a sense of what's coming and gives a clear picture of the tasks at hand. I also no longer have to worry about remembering everything, constantly checking syllabi/work calendars because it's all down on paper. 
So take a breath, get organized and take on the week. You got this.

Sometimes we just have to get out of our own head. Stop comparing, stop catastrophizing, just focus on the tasks at hand each day. The nice thing about our bodies is they reflect the work we put in. If you consistently put in the work (intelligently) you will reap the benefits. Here’s a couple clips from today’s leg workout. Squats are my least favorite exercise. I used to not even be able to do a goblet squat with anything more than a 5lb weight due to my back, but here we are. Force yourself to work on weaknesses rather than avoid them. 
My number one goal this prep has been to come in leaner, but I still continuously challenge myself to improve on form. 
My goal for the next leg day? Slow things down even more, really feel the movement.
