This 50mm and my 35mm Canon F lenses are always there for my conematography needs. Don't always need the new shit to get sick shots.

Who says I never take portraits? I actually rarely share my professional work here on Instagram anymore. My purpose for having a social media presence has never been merely to sell something to people I meet on the Internet. People looking for photography contact me readily enough now after looking through my Instagram presence.

After a recent concert, I asked my fellow colleagues if they might like to have some impromtu portraits taken since we had a gazebo with miniature lights strung all about it in our midst during the afterparty. After a few inquiries, some colleagues acquiesced, and that blossomed to include some members of other ensembles, as well, and, before I knew it, I had about ten people wanting images. This was among the first I captured. Touted by some as having the ability to capture

This was among the first I captured. Touted by some as having the ability to capture "legit" photos, I elected to use my 5D Mark II DSLR and my EF 135 f/2 L USM lens at 1/40th of a second, f/2, and ISO 250. In my use of this lens, f/2 is not nearly as wide as you think if you are used to f/1.8 or faster lenses. This causes you to lower shutter speed and raise ISO values to properly expose, and this can be terribly detrimental on a camera like the 5D Mark II, which has relatively little exposure latitude. Nevertheless, this lens is a joy to use, even on my 5D Mark II. The bokeh it renders is exquisite, and it makes many ordinary scenarios come to life with its ability to separate background and subject so effortlessly. I could have used IS however.
