Days like today are why I love my job. @amber.hannant has been with me for about a year now and as a lifter has developed 10fold. We came today to qualify for nationals after I pulled her out of her last meet. We said we would play with squats to gauge national openers. So she went 3 for 3 with a 12.5kg meet PR. Said we’d take an easy record on bench, so she opened with it and we left it there. Deadlifts wanted to prove herself that numbers were nothing, took an easy 12.5kg PR. Perfect performance. Hello IG Fam 😁 hope you all are doing great 👊 Have a great Sunday funday - - I'm thinking about training arms twice a week to maximize gains 💪 But once your body used to the same exercises over and over again they become useless, it's like your body knows all your tricks, I've been working out using resistance bands for 3 weeks now, and I'm amazed how much pump and soreness I'm getting from it but I miss the iron 😅 so this week I'm going home 🏡 and it's gonna be 100% iron and that will shock the muscles because they used to a certain way of training and when you give them something else, they'll be like 😱 haha. Try from time to time to change your way of training exercises & techniques etc - - EZ-Bar Skull crusher is a great exercise to isolate your triceps when performed properly - Instructions 1⃣Using a close grip, lift the EZ bar and hold it with your elbows in as you lie on the bench. Your arms should be perpendicular to the floor. This will be your starting position 2⃣Keeping the upper arms stationary, lower the bar by allowing the elbows to flex. Inhale as you perform this portion of the movement. Finally back in the gym today, and back to more squats.. I always find the first day hard after a couple of extra days off but I know that over the following days my extra recovery and nutrition with pay dividends with my strength. Definitely enjoyed a few snow days with good people, it's important to find time to have fun too!

I'm now on my second cycle of turning my 1 rep max squat (with clean form) into my 3 rep max. Been really interesting to see a theory put into practice and work perfectly, so far.. For this programme I am doing 5-10 sets of a single reps at, or close to my max ensuring I don't compromise form for weight at any point. The next day I am simply doing the same weight for 2 reps, and then for 3 reps the following day. On the fourth day I am resting completely. Obviously a load of accessory work is involved to and ensuring not to overload my CNS so it is able to recover effectively, not to mention a big diet overhaul has been in place to meet my recovery requirements too. Get in touch if you fancy adding some weight to some of your lifts, and potentially trying this sort of training in your programme!
