I’ve decided to do another challenge! Haha - I’m really enjoying doing things like this as it breaks up my usual routine, and I always learn something new, which is amazing. The post for yesterday’s routine is finally here! I was too exhausted yesterday to be able to get around to posting my work from earlier. That said, it leads me right into what I need to give up - the idea that I have to do everything. I’m in the process of finally giving myself the permission to be tired (I am, after all, growing another human inside me!). I’m allowed to not go to yoga sometimes and do a home workout instead, I’m allowed to take breaks between reps, and get 13 hours of sleep if I need it (which is basically every night, now), and eat French fries if my brain is shouting French fries for three days straight. It’s only nine months, after all, and the signs of a very healthy pregnancy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As always, from now on until forever, I’m #grateful to my baby, and to my amazing partner who has been so supportive and amazing. 21 weeks (plus a few days)! * Last night after teaching my yoga class a student came up to me with tears in her eyes. She said, “I’ve never taken your class before but I had a hard day and something compelled me to come. I’ve been trying to conceive and just found out today that I’m not pregnant. Seeing you in here was the encouragement that I needed to not give up.” She didn’t know my story. She had no idea how much I’d understand her feelings. Everyone is fighting their own private battle and you never know how or when you’ll be able to encourage someone else just by showing up. I love that this little miracle girl is already giving people hope and she’s not even here yet. 💗 #growingbabymills

The post for yesterday’s routine is finally here! I was too exhausted yesterday to be able to get around to posting my work from earlier. Day 2! Once again, I’m glad I’m doing this. My wrists feel soooo nice now! If you’re wondering why I’m in this dark room for both videos, it’s because I have to sneak out to a dark corner of the office space to do this during the day! Even just 15 minutes of self care while at work can be hard to come by, otherwise. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Today’s #gratitudestateofmind is, again, around some good news I received today, and always these days, for my growing baby girl ❤️. This time has not only been wonderful to take care of myself, but to do quick meditations to connect with her. Office work doesn’t lend itself to being connected with your body, and therefore, much less with your pregnancy. I gave a yoga class this morning at the gym and it was tough for me but still a excellent class. I have to modify these days for my belly & extra weight and now I finally understand how a preggy yogi feels. I’m completely out of breath. I’ve lost my balance. I can’t use my abs so much. My clothes don’t fit anymore. I don’t wear underarm (sorry #notsorry). Everyone has to listen to me because I do a lot less demonstrating. Certain postures have been removed from my practice completely #bhujangasana I took a prenatal yoga course last month and it helped me with my own practice. Lots of squats, hip openers and supported positions with blocks/bolsters and of course SLOWING DOWN. We are home from our #29week appointment and miss Sabrina is head down and growing! She’s about as big as a butternut squash! I’ve been getting lots of sleep (despite having to pee 3x a night) and have kept moving with my yoga practice, daily walking and workouts @youngs_pt. ✨Things that make me happy: Filming day!✨ . Just recorded three new videos for my pre-natal online yoga course. Celebrated with some headstand! Have had such bad heartburn for the past weeks so haven’t been upside down in a while. It felt great! But I could definitely feel the weight gain of myself and baby F.☺️💖 . It’s gonna take a long time for me to create all the material that I want in the pre-natal course (info videos, meditation videos etc) but I’m so happy that I’ve pulled myself together and almost recorded all the trimester 3 videos now (no headstand will be included in the course, I promise!😋). Cultivating strength and stability has been a focus throughout my pregnancy. I am on the “hypermobile” side of the spectrum and especially with the extra relaxin hormones running through my system, I need more and more stability work. I’ve been doing personal training with Erica @youngs_pt even before I was pregnant and it’s helped my stability a ton! I absolutely love my yoga practice and the kettlebell work mixed in is an added bonus. (I really need heavier kettlebells for at home!) Maybe there’s a future kettle bell + yoga combo class to come in the future @yogivibesstudio?! #transformation 💙 "Everything is different. Every little movement and transition (whether on the yoga mat or not) requires constant mindfulness and attention to detail. Every day I’m unlearning things about myself and my body. I could have never anticipated how much #pregnancy would slow down my physical practice/abilities, or how it would give me such a deep newfound love for meditation. This whole experience is magical, and as I come into the last two months (or less!) I’m eager to just embrace it fully. Counting down the weeks until my maternity leave begins, and I can rest and wait for my baby’s arrival. Note* this will probably be my last inversion in the middle of the room for a long time. I think I’m just lacking the mental focus needed to be as smooth and steady as i want to be. And It just wouldn’t be worth it if I fell and hurt myself or the baby. My last official yoga class at @zenkoyoga went a little like this today. All about gratitude... I have so much to be grateful for, for this incredible practice of yoga, for this amazing yoga studio and for @lauren_verona_yoga ❤️ Still working and taking meditation classes for a few more weeks, but the card I pulled today was all about ‘Surrender’... it’s time to move into the next cycle of life. And I think it’s 100x more impactful at home rather than at a restaurant. There are so many things that I love about our house and one of my favorites is how awesome our neighbors are. Last night we grilled out, made fancy cocktails (and mocktails) and talked about all the things. At one point, with 8 of us sitting around this table that my brother built, I stopped and said “Y’all, this has been a dream of mine and it’s just as good as I imagined it would be.” I have wanted a big table filled with friends and family for so long and last night was such a clear picture of how good life is when we do it together. Right then, we decided to form a supper club. Once a month we will gather. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Sometimes I’m sure it’ll be pizza and paper plates. But the point is that we are intentional and together. I’m realizing that the house doesn’t always have to be clean, you don’t have to be the world’s best cook or have an excuse to invite friends over. Just do it. Last night was exactly what I needed to refuel my extroverted love tank. Chris is as introverted as they come but he said it filled his too. 💗 #buildalongertablenotahigherfence

20 weeks! I told Chris last night that it’s time to say goodbye to my bellybutton. We’ve hit the halfway mark and I have a feeling my innie is going to become an outie in the next few weeks. 🤰🏼 One of my dearest friends made this robe for me to wear on my wedding day. So much has happened over the last couple years. It took a long time to get here, to this place where my sweet baby bump is all I can see. I have dreamed of this and hoped for this my whole entire life. So much has been hard but I truly wouldn’t trade where I am today. I know that all of our waiting has made this time even more joyful. I believe in being able to rename our stories and choose how we respond to our circumstances. Instead of my story being one of sadness and fear, I’m declaring that it is one of hope and grace. I believe that present waiting and suffering can lead to future glory and even bigger JOY. Don’t lose hope, friends. No matter what kind of season of “waiting” you’re in. Have you heard of @spinningbabies?! I recently learned about them from @nutritiousmovement and my doula all in the same week. Basically they have recommended a series of movements (many yoga poses) that can be practiced daily to improve fetal position and promote an easier birth. All are designed to align the uterus, open the pelvis and release tension on tight ligaments. The inversion they recommend is called the forward leaning inversion which can be done kneeling on the bed or couch, I was feeling extra balanced and stable this morning so I opted for my regular headstand and it felt great! ✨Things that make me happy: Moving and seated meditation before starting my workday✨ . For me, there is no better way starting my day in front of the computer than doing: ✨5-10 minutes of moving meditation. Doing twists, stretching, getting upside down. All accompanied by mindful breathing. Always with my AirPods and favorite tunes of the day. ✨10 minutes of seated meditation using the Ananda meditation app. . Today in the intro before the actual meditation started, Deepak Chopra talked about the yoga being the combination of movement, meditation and an overall perspective that emphasizes love, generosity, honesty and compassion. In today’s meditation he emphasized on the importance of finding YOUR favorite way for moving meditation. (Turn on the sound to hear his lovely voice💖). Weather it is asanas (physical yoga poses), dancing, running, swimming etc. Really anything physical that makes your heart lighter and happier. . #30weekspregnant and loving this part of my #pregnancyjourney no matter how heavy and achey I feel. I catch myself zoning out more and more just mentally observing my baby; feeling it stretch and wiggle. Daydreaming about the moment I’ll meet him/her and the weeks that will follow. I am absolutely 100% happy with my birth team, and excited about my plans for a drug-free home birth. I’m trying to remain open minded and trust, though, because in reality this baby will come when and how he/she is ready, and I won’t let my stubbornness to be a danger to either of us. I’ve gotten started on some birth art (examples and recommended exercises can be found in “Birthing From Within”) and making colorfully decorated positive affirmations to view when I’m in labor. One way or another, my baby and I will get through it together, and I have faith he/she will be safely in my arms and covered in my happy tears in no time. For those that are concerned; don’t be. Home-birth is absolutely safe and i am a perfect candidate for it as I’ve had zero complications or major health issues during this pregnancy. I am also very prepared thanks to ample education on pregnancy and birth, and recently a phenomenal childbirth education class at @weareaustinborn 💙 and i live 6-7 minutes from the nearest hospital.
